The Mill Game - Small

Each player has nine pegs. To begin the game, remove all the pegs from the board. Players take turns placing their pegs into empty holes trying to create a horizontal or vertical line of three. A line of three pegs of the same colour is called a ‘mill’. When a player creates a mill, they remove an opponent’s peg from the board, unless the peg is in a mill. If an opponent only has pegs in a mill, one can be removed. Removed pegs cannot be played again. Play then passes back to the other player. When all pegs are placed, players take turns moving to an open adjacent hole, trying to form a mill. Pegs cannot jump over other pegs. Each time a mill is formed, an opponent’s peg is removed. Players can break and remake mills. When one player has three pegs left, they can jump their pegs to any vacant hole. A player wins the game when they reduce their opponent to two pegs.
